  3. Deena...good to you are feeling better. My place to go visit is Hawaii. And my husband took me there after my first round of chemo. It was truly a dream come true. Had to go with a wig, that was the only real drawback....but I whipped that baby off and went snokeling...wasn't going to miss that opportunity.
    My blessings today...hubby is home
    I feel good
    I can blog with you!

  6. Deena,

I loved the video and I wish the same for your and yours. Very beautiful and inspiring.

I have always wanted to go to Ireland since I was a child. My paternal roots are there. I want to see the stone fences, lambs frolicking on the hillsides, the green rolling hills and a castle or two.

    My joys for today:

    Sleeping in a little.

Talking to Michelle on the phone and knowing she is feeling better.

    The sunshine and milder temperatures.

    Visiting your Singing Woods.

    Love you.
    Blessings,
    Mary

  9. My joys today: being able to finish my step workout this morning without interruption (other than 4-year-old Frances bounding downstairs to say she was finished playing in her room!); Jesse (my almost-2-year-old boy) sleeping in late and breaking into a huge smile when I peered into his room to say good morning!

My friend and her father went to Ireland last year and loved it! I know you'll have an awesome time too. Having something to look forward to post-treatment is a wonderful "carrot before the nose" during treatment! Mine was Disney with the kids, plus a weekend of my own which I took a few months later.

    Enjoy today! Katie

  10. Oh tis asking for trouble ye are when ye talking bout the Irish Isle! Do ya know just what it is ye be expectin now lass?! I'm second gen Irish American. Raised in Irish Catholic Girls Schools back East in all Irish area...what a day this was back in my past.
Every Lass in their Plaids/Green skirts flying round their knees and Tams and kneesocks with Green Garters for each family tribe! All the week before would be the gettin ready for the dancin dontchaknow and jigs on the stage you see, with parents takin off work to watch and go home to celebrate with all the Aunts and Uncles and Cousins round the tables in kitchens singing and dancing till late into the night! What a sight! What a time to remember! It is raining hard here and thundering and lightning all the morn till after the noon. I'm thinkin that with all of them up there they are carryin on so that they make a ruckus for me to hear! The Irish Tribe's drums are drummin the beat for their feet! Oh, what a party it must be cause I know they bribed St. Pat himself to look away just a moment or two while they have their way with whatever they have a will to! ;-)God Bless them all, I miss em ya see. God Bless me and ye too!
Top of the morn to ye and the rest of the day to meself! Church/Saints and Haints

  12. Happy St. Patty's!!

My "post-treatment" trip is Hawaii for two weeks this coming summer. We were supposed to go last summer, but health problems prevented it. Not this year, though!

In five years (our 25th anniversary) we're going to Scotland and I'd like to see Ireland as well. My family started in the Highlands, moved to Ireland and finally ended up scant years before the Revolution. So Scotland and Ireland are a dream of mine as well. :o)

I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip and seeing the pictures!!

    Blissin's ta ye,

My joys are reading you are better...Having my children and grandchildren around me this past week...my son mowed all my yard..wonderful children that come to help me out...being able to cook for them and hearing them say how much they love my cooking...my children asking me to pray for others that are in need...being able to go to church yesterday morning and request special prayers for you in the heart of Texas...and giving God the glory for prayers answered....

My joy of today is remembering 50 years ago, given birth to my 1st born a son, on St St.Patricks Day ...Oh what a happy day that was!

  23. I too would love to visit there more than any other country outside of the US. I enjoy the Celtic Woman and my sweet hubby thought he was buying me a set of 3-D's by them but it wasn't Celtic Woman. He said to make it up to me he would take me to Ireland to see them in person. Maybe a 25th wedding anniversary.
Take lots of pictures because it sounds like you will be going before me.
    Smiles!

  25. Hey Deena.
WOW....I posted the exact same video on my site as well. Great minds I say! HA! I did think of you when I saw it the other day and decided to stick it on there for today.
Ireland is wonderful....YOU HAVE GOT TO GO! It's just as green and lush and beautiful as you can imagine it being. They say there are "50 shades of green in Ireland" I believe it.
I remember looking at the hills and thinking..."this can't be real."
    But it "tis."
    Have a "Grand" day.
    I'm thinking of you..

  38. Hugs Dear Deena~

I've been away much too long, but joys! The simplest of joys come from the gift of others that touch us in many ways. They are a gift to be opened and cherished. Be them family or friend, it is people dear to our hearts that hold the biggest joy. I have seen how you have touched so many lives here for year. You Deena are a rare gift. You have taught me much.

  41. Happy Wednesday, Deena. Hope that you are feeling lovely today and if slightly not lovely, then that lovliness will surround you =)
My joys: Him and those He gave me! Spring (even though it's not here yet - I take joy in the anticipation of it), The silky corner of a blanket next to my cheek. Being able to buy groceries and get gas for the truck. The muffled sound of birds singing out my kitchen window. A clean bathroom and dishes that I didn't have to wash (little helpers). A puppy that hasn't peed inside yet today =). Having my husband upstairs working away. Lots of joy to you today! Blessings... Polly

  42. Hey Mickey! Your so fine! It's comin up that time! Must be taken those pre chemo meds huh? I've got flowers, migrating masses of all kinds of birds that fill every branch of all the area trees and making a Spring racket. Jack Sprat won't go out and keeps looking up and running back to the door....his first Spring. On the dryer cycle of washing fabric to get ready to cut. Drafted the pattern for last couple days. When she's all together I'll put her in a dye bath too. Life is good...it's the simple good things that sustain us. church

  43. With tears in my eyes Deena, I just got caught up on your blog. You look so cute in those hats. Love the Irish Blessing Video too.

Today marks the date my mama suddenly left us four weeks ago and I'm still so sad. But I too have joys:

that I had my mother for 51 years and have so many memories of her to take me through the rest of my life.

joy that my mama doesn't have to worry about my cancer stuff anymore.

Lindsay is home from Iraq!!! A great joy for me and my family. My mom got to see her too and know she was home safe and sound. Lindsay was her first granddaughter.

Joy that my mom left me a beautiful face painting for me to create with.

Joy that God is on my side and that He is good ALL the time.

Joy that spring is in the air.

Joy that I'm in Jesus and He is in me.

Joy that I have so many caring and loving friends.

Joy that my friend Deena is doing well and is fighting this beast called breast cancer.

Joy that you are going to go to Ireland. After my treatments last year I went to New England and taught art classes and made so many special new friends.

    Love to you sweetie.

I have seen so many beautiful pictures from there and I know it would be a beautiful place to visit. I hope you had a great St. Patrick's Day. I didn't do much myself. I was so tired from all the moving over the weekend and sore as well. I am just doing a little each day. The video is just breathtaking and the words are very touching. "THANK YOU" for sharing such a wonderful video with us Deena. I hope you are having a good week so far and that you and Rich are feeling much better. Take care my friend and have a great day. 62. A belated happy st. paddy's. :-)

I've never been to Ireland, like yourself, but have always wanted to go too. The green isle as they call it, a soothing lull both in the scenery and the accent and the Guinness, :-), you will have a wonderful time when you go without a doubt. Jigging in the back street pubs etcetera etcetera etcetera.
