I have never had chemo, but my aunt has and she wore sweats everytime. She had never had a pair of sweats until she did the chemo and a nurse friend recommended them. Apparently it can get quite cold. Another choice is scrubs like surgical nurses wear, but they are thin, so I recommend the sweats. Can Nichole or Rich pick you up a sweatsuit or two?

Take care, my friend. Stay positive. That is the key and keep your eyes heavenward.

Love and blessings. You are, as always, in my prayers.

MaryMaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08175754179624182953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-799719900559153470.post-16143408402632222022008-01-22T11:27:00.000-06:002008-01-22T11:27:00.000-06:00Church the dressmaker suggests...all these experie...Church the dressmaker suggests...all these experienced women are so great! They really know the way to go! Myself likes everything soft and knit and I always opted and still do for any trip to drs. or hospitals to go with yoga pants and long sweaters or long tunics. If I find some short dress (which I usually make) I always wear them over yoga pants or pretty cotton knits from Target cause you said you don't do Wal-Mart. And let me tell you! Second hand pregnancy tops that are A-line and long really give the room to chest and tummy and flow romantically over some nice cotton pants...pretty and soft.
I just think it has been so wonderful to have so many women who have already done this journey that they share here and everyone learns! A week after having a baby...and 6 years later....now that's a heroine!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-799719900559153470.post-43327658943370767652008-01-22T11:25:00.000-06:002008-01-22T11:25:00.000-06:00Good Morning Deena,I would go with some comfy Swea...Good Morning Deena,
I would go with some comfy Sweats as well. Also, they do make some lounge pants that you can find in the Pajama Section at Wal-Mart. I have a pair of P.J.'s that my DH bought me several years ago that has Mickey Mouse on them. I wear them out in public. They are flannel too. I also have a pair of bottoms that have hearts on them, but they aren't flannel that I wear out in public. I do hope you find something tho. Take care my friend and have a great day. Ya might want to wear a t-shirt under your sweat shirt incase they use your vein in your arm. They did all mine in my hand vein and it was much better. They had a tv in mine too and the big chairs we sat in were pretty comfy. They also have rooms with beds in them and they do have blankets. I know everything will go great for you. I was stage 3 also. I will be 6 yrs in May. Know I am thinking of you. If you want serious comfort, scrubs are great (for the bottoms) -- anywhere that sells uniforms (even Wal*Mart does) buy yourself a pair of the bottoms. I wore mine to work when I was in the doctor's office, but I still wear them around the house!!

I'd wear some warm socks and bring a sweater -- it can get cold in there and the chemicals in your veins can make you cold. They have blankets/sheets etc. to wrap you in if you need but I always took a sweater and a scarf!! I just liked feeling "cozy".

Bring a book, magazines, something to occupy you...but be prepared. All the pre-meds do such a wonderful job - you may well find yourself napping...I always did.

One other tip -- "own" this day. Every chemo day. Make it special. Treat yourself to your make-up and something yummy to eat or to drink...I approached chemo day as "MY" day -- chose not to look at it as negative or sad or scary. I chose to look at it as a day of "life".

You'll do well. I know you will.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08271529958269038071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-799719900559153470.post-11539881948479828722008-01-22T07:02:00.000-06:002008-01-22T07:02:00.000-06:00a sweat suit is the only way to go. it is comforta...a sweat suit is the only way to go. it is comfortable yet presentable....
maybe if you don't feel like shopping your hubby or daughter can pick you up a set...
you definitely want to be as comfortable as possible.. since the first one will be an all day affair!!
you may even find a pink one!!!
Love,
MimiMimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05829978526818067941noreply@blogger.com
