All I can say, is thank heavens for headaches!!
That headache that started 2 weeks ago was a warning
sign. I had it for over a week, told my Dr. Mammolito
when I went to her for my follow up (she's my breast surgeon)
Last Tuesday,
she had me go THAT day for a head MRI & had my results
sent to my oncologist (Dr. Prager) that same day. I got a call that late
afternoon.
The headaches are from edema (swelling).. I for sure have tumors
in my brain , they will search for more tomorrow.
Today Rich and I went to "Gamma Knife Center" for
our appt. Tomorrow at 6 AM we will go in for the
radiation procedure. Most of the day, it will be VERY precise
radiation to destroy just the tumors. The docs will do a head MRI
every 8 weeks for about 2 years to watch for more developing tumors.
We are delighted it will be a one time procedure..the outlook is excellent & we are praising God for the ease of it.
Please pray for us tomorrow..I know God will be with us nd all will be fine.. I'm only a BIT cautious of the CROWN

OH my Dearest Deena, I'm feeling a bit speechless. I'm so sorry honey that you have to go through more. I am proud that you are going to the doctor and following up. I'm not doing that since my mom died, I don't care. But maybe you are making me care again. Oh, I feel so much more for you than I do myself. I've been having headaches too, and that's not normal for me. I just blame it on stress.
ReplyDeleteOh Deena, I have read about this surgery when my husband had his brain tumor. It wasn't an option for him, but this can have wonderful outcome...and that is what I'm going to pray for, hope for and believe in with you.
Those of us who have had breast cancer touch us, our understanding is so with you, for all that you think about and more than anything for our loved ones who worry.
My mom was the one who encouraged me to keep all in check. Deena, I am so glad you have a good doctor. Maybe I should fly out there and meet them.
So sorry Deena I haven't been around. Shame on me. I will keep you in my prayers continually, I promise. I'm so glad you sent me the email.

If a crown is the cure then let the crown set upon your head! I am thrilled that this procedure is going to be done so quickly and that hopefully you will be watched and next time they look you will be ALL CLEARED! And we will be so thankful. God is good. I DO know a woman, a friend, who had the gamma knife procedure. It WORKED. She had numerous tumors and they are gone!

ReplyDeleteHere is the link to a young woman who has been dealing with stage 4 cancer, since 2002. She has had many procedures and is, now, fighting tumors in her brain. So far, she continues to live and remain optimistic through it all.
She is very inspiring and lives a meaningful life. I know she will strengthen your hope.
You are a very inspiring woman in the way that you have remained so positive in the midst of such a challenging experience. God truly must be near and dear to your heart.
