YES! YES! YES! One of my all time favoritist movies! Bought 5 copies VCR years ago so I would always have it. Still using my VCR. Beautiful! Church
ReplyDeleteLOVE it TOO!!
ReplyDeletedeena
Deena, Will get the movie on yours and Church's recommendations. The hollyhocks are lovely. Mine seem to be all single blossoms. Did you ever make little dolls using the flowers as dresses? Sharon Lovejoy tells how to do it in one of her beautiful books-can't think of the title just now.
ReplyDeleteLove, Debra
My Sweet Deena,
ReplyDeletePink Hollyhocks are my favorite....I have yet to plant some and will in my garden soon.
Please know you are in my prayers EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!
Sorry I haven't been a good friend to you. Please forgive me,Amy (Mom to the Four Sisters)

Oh my gosh, Deena--my husband and I were just recommending this movie to someone yesterday! We LOVE this film and have seen it several times. We just watched "In America" last night--have you seen that one? It's about an Irish family who moves to New York--the little girls in the film are absolutely precious . . . hope you're having a great weekend! Hugs, Jann
ReplyDeleteoooh, I love hollyhocks, and surprisingly they will grow here in the desert. I will have to see that movie. We just rented Dan in Real Life, what a cute movie !! Hope you had a great 4th Deena and celebrated YOUR Independence !! :) :)

ReplyDeleteI love hollyhocks. Used to have some outside my window after we came to the US after evacuating from China.
Hope you had a wonderful 4th!

Gorgeous flowers, Deena.
ReplyDeleteI will try to go see the movie this month !
Have your headaches gone away ? I heard something about the new energy saving lightbulbs causing horrible migraines with some people...
Have never seen that movie. Thanks for the suggestion.
ReplyDeleteUsed to love making little girls out of hollyhocks. Yours are double or triple, they're so beautiful.
Deena,

Dear sweet Deena, What beautiful Hollyhocks!
ReplyDeleteYou continue to be in thoughts and prayers this morning.
You are such a source of comfort to so many of us and I hope we are to you too.
Great "Joy" list today.. God's faithfulness is a very good one.
I LOVE the strong faith and wonderful attitude you always have. Thanks for sharing it with us.
You truly are such a blessing to me.
I love you! ~Mary~
That is so Funny!
ReplyDeleteMy good friend Diane, JUST GAVE me that DVD before left for her vacation to visit her family in Minnesota ...she told me that I would "love it and that it was a classic IRISH tale".....
Great minds think alike!
I tried to grow Holly Hocks here....but to no avail. I even had pre-started ones....the root/bulbs....and they looked like they would take but didn't. Blah!
Thanks for the photos though.
I love them.
Hang in there...

Hi Deena,
ReplyDeleteI have seen that movie several times and just love it! Your hollyhocks are beautiful! My friend just told me, to my surprise, that they will grow here in Arizona! She gave me some seeds the other day and I planted them over the weekend. Can’t wait until they sprout!
Deena, your faith, courage & strength have touched my heart so much. Even though I don’t really know you well, I want you to know that I love you and that you have a friend in me. You are in my thoughts & prayers daily.
Love,
Carol Anne
The garden tour was beautiful! I will have to check out that movie too! And I love blustery days!! And honey, hee hee, just like Pooh!

Oh Deena, How I love hollyhocks. Those are just stunning. So many of my little seedlings are just sitting there this year barely growing. I am going to give them some Miracle Grow today.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
xo Cath
I can't even imagine what you're going through, my little cherub, but I do pray for a large list of people daily. You're now one of them. I found you from 4 sisters in a cottage blog. I wish you well, my sweets, and faith in Him can definitely help. I'm truly blessed each and every day by Him.
ReplyDeleteSmoochies,
Connie

ReplyDeleteI'll make sure to see the movie too...
happy to see your post..
Hugs,

Deena, I'm not sure I've seen that movie. I'll have to check it out and see. I think maybe the children watched it long ago. I was probably busy cleaning or cooking.
ReplyDeleteThe hollyhocks are beautiful! Mine did not come out this year. Waaaa. Maybe next year. :)
Lynn
My dad's nickname for me is "Pooh" because of my love for Winnie-the-Pooh when I was little. It's a sweet thing except when he hollars it across a store =) Blessings... Polly
ReplyDeleteDeena,
ReplyDeleteI love hollyhocks but for some reason they don't like me. Each time I try to go them, they never come up again. I haven't figured out why but one day I will.
Brandon and Jordan came over on the weekend and I put them to work on the renovations. They learned something new and they seemed to enjoy it. Great lesson for them.
My joys:
Seeing the blue jays come to our yard for peanuts in the shell.
Working with hubby and the boys on the apartment.
Spending a couple hours away from home with hubby.
Beautiful weather all last week with no humidity.
Blessings and hugs,
Mary
I hope you had a great weekend. I love hollyhocks. Have you ever made hollyhock dolls? Or maybe I'm just telling my age.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Glo
Your hollyhocks are so beautiful. I have some growing for the first time, and their beauty makes me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and praying,
Becca
Deena, I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May Gods healing hands rest upon you and heal your body. Love and Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteDeena:
ReplyDeleteI said an extra prayer for you this morning (although you are in my prayers every day.)
I also have a pink hollyhock on my deck. But guess what? It's fake.
I do not have a green thumb in any sense of the word............
