is the oldest of eight.
The left bottom is my dad & his
dad , Aubrey.
The bottom right is my dad & his Aunt Minnie
He has been ill & in a nursing home for 10 months
He had Alzheimer's & Parkinson's Disease.
I know he is happy in heaven now.
Please pray for all of us to be strong
My kids and I had not seen him for 3 years.
We were planning on going in September for a visit.
Rest easy daddy dear, God has you near. I will always love you.

ReplyDeleteI am reminded of that movie with Steve Martin and his daughter's wedding and all his conflicts of emotion. The quote from it, "life is not a merry go round ride, it's a roller coaster ride". I never liked roller coasters and often relate to the peak experience of being at the top just before going down fast. Took me many life losses to just keep my hands off the bar and allow myself to scream all the way into it. Today was your last radiation treatment I remembered this am of course. Went to leave you a comment of congrats and saw the next thing on your plate. I had allowed myself this afternoon to go sit in the truck in the park and cry cause I need to call my Mom. Some days it's worse, some days I am on my way forward. Last couple of days I go to lift the phone to tell her something and remember. It's a total "root upheaval" with the passing of parents no matter how prepared we are or how spiritually aware we are. It's hard, it's loss and no one or nothing can change what it feels like. I do not know why this had to happen on your last rad day.

I just want you to know that the dynamics of what happened to you in your life today are noted. And that you have been handed a difficult and painful passage. Someday you'll know the reason when you see your Dad again. Till then, I know many of us stand in the gap to hold you in prayer.
That picture of his Dad, your Grandpa, holding his first son, not knowing that he would have 7 more children. Your Dad, the oldest of 8...a very responsible position right from the get go. God bless him, he's safe and whole again now and then some. Life is a wonder.
