isn't he lovely
My Prayer
Keep me from getting talkative, And particularly from the fatal habit of thinking That I must say something on every subject and on every occasion. Release me from the craving to straighten out everyones affairs.Keep my mind from the recital of endless details: Give me wings to get to the point. Seal my lips when inclined to tell of my aches and pains. They are increasing with the years And my love of reciting them grows sweeter as the years go by. Teach me the glorious lesson That occasionally it is possible that I may be mistaken. Keep me reasonably sweet. I do not want to be a Saint; Some of them are hard to live with, But a sour old woman is one of the crowning works of the Devil. Help me to extract all possible fun out of life. There are so many funny things around us, And I do not want to miss any of them. Make me thoughtful but not moody, Helpful but not bossy with my vast store of wisdom, It seems a pity not to use it all, But thou my Lord knoweth That I want a few friends left at the end.

PLEASE pray for my friend Sandra Dias
as she begins chemo tomorrow..4/28/2008
That fits me perfectly too! Every word. What a great prayer. I must print it and place it where I see it until I know it by memory.
ReplyDeleteLOL..
ReplyDeletefits me perfect too
Ooooo, you have seen a bluebird this season! How lovely!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit. We have been landscaping, and Chris spotted a bird's nest in a tree he was going to cut down. A robin's egg is now in it, so the tree will stay, for now at least.
:)
I saw this over at Joy's place too...I had not seen it before and I printed it out....gonna put it on the fridge.
ReplyDeleteLOL
Hugs,
Robin
What a great picture of the little hummer. They live here year round and I would miss them if they left in the winter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful prayer Deena.

ReplyDeleteI like this post. It is very important to remember these things. I have my sound on tonight and I really enjoy your music choice. I hope you are feeling better, and have a good weekend and a healthier week next week. Hope you feel better every day. I remember you in my prayers even though I don't know you except with this blog.
ReplyDeleteOh my, you've posted some thoughts in that prayer that have been on my own heart about myself! Especially complaining and speaking on everything all the time. (blush)

Stopping by to check in, say "hi" and "God bless". Thanks for the prayer, and the hummingbird reminder! Loved your Turkeys! Did you ever hear that Ben Franklin thought the wild turkey should be our national bird due to its "noble bearing"? Not sure if that is true, but it is a good story. So glad you are up and about! Love, Maridon
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful bird
ReplyDeleteAlison
I needed to read this today. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful quote. Realistic! You know, sometimes a quote is pretty but doesn't apply much. This one, however, really applies! Thank you for sharing it. Blessings.. Polly (p.s. added your link to the Friday Flea Market. Also, I'll have a special announcment Monday if you have time to pop over)
ReplyDeleteLoved the poem!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having an awesome Sunday! ☼
PS...said a quick prayer for Sandra Dias.
Deena, I needed to read that, so going to print it out and post it on the fridge. Glad you are feeling better. I sit outside every morning and watch the hummers, but haven't tried taking any pictures of them yet---too fast. I will keep your friend Sandra in my prayers. Love and Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteYes, Sandra will be in my prayers. I hope you are feeling well.

Good Afternoon Deena,
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been by in a while, but life has just been busy around here with the girls playing softball if it isn't raining. We have had our fair share of rain this Spring. It rained 3 times on Friday and it's been raining some more this afternoon. The little Hummingbird is just precious. Before I got married to my DH now, my Mom used to have some greenery called running lace or something like that. Every morning it would have little red blooms on there and the humming birds would come and enjoy the juice from the red blooms. I will be praying for your friend Sandra Dias. That is such a beautiful prayer and the next time I go to the library, I am going to have to print it out and put it on my fridge as well. I tend to complain about everthing seems like. I guess it's old age kicking in. LOL. I hope you have had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. I did put up a new post this morning and even some pictures. I hope you will drop by when you feel like it sometime. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love, Hugs, & Prayers,
Karen H.
Hi Deena, thanks for sharing the prayer! I had to let you know that your courage has inspired me. I have ALWAYS said, no way to donating blood. When the cards were in the pews at church for our blood drive, I would hide them in my purse. Anyway, a friend is in the hospital with cancer, and needed blood. So I realized that my 30 something year old FEAR was something I had to get over. Life is like that isn't it? We spend so much time on fear and dread, and then when the time gets here HE provides the strength needed for the day. Not ahead of time, but IN TIME! Had to share that with you Friend! Ksarra
ReplyDeleteHi Deena.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful photos.
Thank you for sharing the prayer...it makes you realize that your problems aren't as bad as others...need to stop complaining about my aches and pains. Needed to read this today.
So glad that you feeling better.
Sharon

ReplyDeleteHugs to you and i am sooooo glad that your little hummer has come to stay for the summer... are they not just the most fun.......
Just one thing I wanted to share..
ReplyDeletetheir are folks who use to visit
my blog(s)*** I can't call them friends
as they never were ( I know that now)
and comment , who no longer do
who were friend BBC (before breast cancer)
I wonder if the cancer caused them to
not visit..??
Just a thought, for any of you who experience
the same sort of behavior.
love in Him
Deena
