The Great Barred Owl came to visit
today. His hoot sounds like who cooks for you
If you hoot back he will hoot at you.
It's time for the babies..
so perhaps he's looking for a home.
I am so grateful I got some decent photos to share.
I love owls..bats....and so many more animals
Mr Barred didn't seem to care if I was around
he even listened when I talked to him
God sent me this joy today
He is soooo beautiful. I looked out the window one night and saw one sitting on the bird bath. We've been here 9 years and that's the only one I've seen so far. We seemed to have a lot of turkeys in the fields this year. Keeping you in my prayers as always. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteOh my he is stunning and you got such great pictures! I am glad you had some joy after that wicked medicine!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Really great pictures! I've never seen an owl as close as this...
ReplyDeleteAre you feeling some better today? I sure hope you are since you're not on those bad med's anymore..
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers..
Blessings,
~Lynn

Wow you are so blessed! I think that Owls are such dignified creatures and I love to hear them hoot, it is magical! Fantastic photos. I hope he decides to nest near your home!

ReplyDeleteWonderful!!
ReplyDeletewhat a GIFT you received! Thanks for sharing him/her Deena! I have not had the pleasure to observe very many owls. This is a real treat!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a owl close up. What a beautiful bird. Plus if I did see one, I would have never taken such great photo's. Still can't work my camera. Great pictures Deena. Hope your feeling better. Paulette
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like what the Lord provides. Glad you were given the gift of Mr. Barred.--Sally
ReplyDeleteGod is so good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. We have a couple but we do not get the pleasure of seeing them as you have done. We refer to them as "Hoot". Peace
ReplyDeleteDeena, I just got my computer back on and it wasn't my laptop. My service was cutoff for no reason. We had a heck of a time getting it back on.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the parts I love best about living in the country. We grew up seeing Barn Owls, Bats,Cardinals, Blue Martins, and many others. It's almost time for the nesting hummers to get here, so I will be putting my feeder out.
I do hope you are feeling better soon now that you are off that horrible medicine. I have to have corticoid injections just about every 3 months and the last one was really bad. I will say prayers that your headaches will go away on their own. Have you tried an herbal ice pack? If not, you might want to get Rich to rub the arch of your foot with lotion because I know a reflexologist and he told us that was one of the pressure points that when massaged, it relieves headaches and the arch of the foot is the spot. I have tried it and it works for me. Best Wishes and lots of hugs, love, and prayers, Pat
I love your photos! I've only seen real, live owls at the zoo or nature center--I'd love to see them in the wild. You are blessed! Thank you for sharing! Love, Jann
ReplyDeleteOh Deena! He is lovely!!! You got tremendous photos...perhaps he will be a regular now that he has someone to talk with...
