A Hair Update

Remember this?? Bald from chemo & a black eye from hitting my eye with the Swiffer as I was cleaning??
Here's my hair today.
I hate my side profile..LOL (I've gained weight too!UGH UGH UGH)
These two bald spots are from the Gamma Knife when my 5 brain tumors were removed. I think the 2 largest were here & that's why I don't have 5 spots. It may be permanent, but my other hair will grow over them. I still have a red spot where the "crown" for Gamma Knife was screwed to my skull. I also have two tiny holes above each eyebrow. Here's the top on my head..

Yep, I have hair..GRAY and GRAYER for now. Can you believe someone told me she liked my carefree hair??? LOL, she had no idea that I would NEVER EVER EVER cut my hair this short..I just said , thank you!! teehee

I caught a summer cold, sore throat, body aches, face aches, Hubby was so kind to share his with me.

Chemo 4 of 6

Sweet Do Rag from my friend Amy!

Next chemo is May 2, then #6 is May 23rd. I'll be getting another PET/CT scan and my Oncologist will decide if it's more chemo or moving on to radiation. May I request prayers for moving on???!!!

Just so you know how healthy I really look with make up and wig. I still have eyebrows and lashes!! woohoo

Tis a very COLD day here. Woke of to zero, and crunchy snow.

I feel amazingly good, slept good, no sickness , still have hair!!

Oh what a Sunday.  

I'll be doing a few domestic things as my strength allows &

napping for sure.

Friday night Rich and I watched "3 10 to Yuma" with

Russell Crow, a remake of a 1957 western with Glenn Ford.

I enjoyed it, and there was always that glimmer of

hope for good in Ben Wade, Crowe's character.

Rich brother, Gary is coming to visit next Saturday...may not be good

for me, but I am hoping the boys will decided what to do with

their  dad long term.  

He's doing QUITE well at 

his apartment at Independence Village, but he can

stay in that apartment for 4 months, then he'll need to

make a long term commitment.

I need to get working a bit

and talk Rich into making breakfast, cinammon rolls and boiled eggs, with some milk for me ..and water , water, water..

Today is pre-chemo day for me.

Steriods, lots of water & a good night's rest.

No make up, didn't fix my hair, but I showered & 

put on some sweet pj's.

God, Rich & I will be at the Oncologist's at 8 AM for blood tests & CHEMO!!

My white blood count moved down from 18 to 17..not enough..

I did get my IV to start strengthening my bones.

Dr. Prager (oncologist) wanted me to see Dr Jones( plastic surgeon) 

so I saw him today too. (smiles & hugs I got from him)

I have two new antibiotics..and Rich &  I are  going in next Friday

at 8 AM to try again.  Dr Prager wants to start the chemo

ASAP..The cancer is aggressive and we need to start killing

those cells!!  

I was disappointed ..but it's not like last week when I got

the Pet/CT scan results..

I post again soon.

 I slept great..with the aid of Ambien, up bright eyed

& bushy tailed at 5:15 AM.  

Taking meds, drinking water, eating, got my goodie bag packed.

Rich is going to snow blow the drive..and hopefully the 

snow plow will be through again in a bit.

We got about 6 inches or more..the schools are all closed.

I feel good about today..and I know I'll at LEAST get the

injection to start my bones hardening.

I want to THANK Dolly for my Valentine Swap box,  Mollye for

my KING CAKE from Louisianne to celebrate Mardi Gras

Dana's friend Cyndi for the lotion for when Radiation begins.

I did get OUR WEBSITE updated last night...that

Blood Tests are at 8:15 AM, then see my oncologist, Diane Prager, then

the plan for the day!!

A great center..about 20 minutes from home

and this is what we learned.

The chemo "pod" has WiFi

AWESOME..

I couldn't play chemo..as my white blood count is too high

somewhere there is an infection..so antibiotics

this week and back NeXT Friday..2/1 at 8:15 AM for

blood work and try it again.

The cancer is in stage 4..in more lymphs thru my body

my adrenal glands, another 1 cm node to the left of my aorta, 

in my 9th rib..rib is breaking down..in my spine and 

numerous areas of my skeleton (bones)

Well I just lost it!! Rich looks sad and scared..but

as I read before..and my BFF Marcia reminded me 

today.

she is so awesome!!

EVERY CANCER IN EVERY STAGE has been survived..and 

I intend to fight the fight..

God's will be done..

I began my Dexamethasone today, a booster for

me during chemo,

ordered a cool wig today, had lunch with

my oldest daughter and came home to REST.

Last evening my youngest daughter , Mercedes called to 

see if I'd go to 

Sweeney Todd with her. .

I  was out of here and at the movie with 30 minutes.

It was great to spend time with her, hug her and just sit next to her.

Oh the movie..I liked it  a Bloody Murder Musical..but a cautionary

tale.

Tomorrow will be a long day for Rich & me.  Be at the Oncology Center at 9:30 AM

..blood tests for me, meet with the oncologist, discuss the Pet/CT scan

then 5.5 hours of chemo & Herceptin IVs.

I'll let you know the outcome as soon as I can.

  I expect the best news

but ..I'm prepared for anything..God is holding me in His palm.
