Off to See the Wizard (of radiation)

I'm up and slightly painted. I took some pics of my hair. It's just long enough to need a style and just stubborn enough to do what it wants. I will let you know how today goes. It's every week day for 4-5 weeks. I hope I can drag myself around the house to do cleaning.

Today is lovely & some leaves are starting to change colors. I hope your day is blessed & thank you for all your kind comments & prayers. I do read every one . They lift me up like Angel Wings.
Please remember Dee in your prayers today as she gets her final pathology report from her surgery on Sept. 12th.
fondly, Deena

  5. I am thinking and praying for you, but seeing the photos of your hair today - and remembering what you said a couple of weeks ago about never, ever, choosing to have such short hair - I'd like to tell you that, apart from the fact I like your hair short(although not the reason for it being that way) your beauty is apparent both from your face and from what radiates out from you...

Our son has recurrent brain tumours - and still a brain stem tumour that could never be completely removed from its treatment in 1978 when he was 3. All I can say is that, although the journey has been hard, he is still here - and mentally fine. Everyone is different and with medical care, inner strength and loving support, so much can be achieved. The hardest thing of all is 'acceptance'- but you have wrestled successfully with that demon, sending love...Andrina

  8. ((hugs)) to you, brave Deena. You look very pretty to me, always, long hair, short hair, no hair - your sweet spirit shines through :)

I hope that the radiation goes well today and for the next five weeks. *May the treatment be over then for good, all the tumors and headaches be gone, and your energy come back and health be good*

    Blessings to you,
    Loving Annie

  17. DAM! you look so good Deenz!! Ya know, I don't know what you're not seeing that I see? You're back...the "me" you miss is back...not kidding...I see her right here! Just a different color hair for now...but same neck, face...all of her, she's there Deenz. I promise you I see her.
So at night when the dark doubt thoughts come..what about just spelling them out here? What about letting others "stay up with you" in a different way? Deenz, it is best for people to let out their stress/fears...out of their bodies by speaking/writing...go ahead..we can take it....we'll even not comment if that will help. You don't have to always be positive Deenz...we're all big girls here...let us help by letting us know and do what is called "HOLDING SPACE' which is what women do while a woman speaks her truth in safety and to get it out while all those around her stay silent, don't tell her no, don't try to get her to feel differently, just let her be right where she is at with no judgement. We can do that, I can do that...so just know, it's there if you need.
    NOW GO REST!!!!!

  18. Would you believe that 2 years after my hair was like yours from chemo...I had it all cut to look just like that?! I loved having so little hair!! And it's nice to have the choice about cutting it.

Sending you blessing upon blessing upon blessing for your next round of rads.

Housework and cleaning?!? Forget about it for now -- you are all that matters my sweet ♥

  19. Lovely hair....it looks wiry * I mean that as a compliment, and spunky. You look great with short hair. Now, why are you worrying about cleaning house? DON'T DO IT. I know your family will help you out on that one. YOU JUST REST and let the Gamma do it's magic.

  30. I am praying for you, Deena.

You're handling these 20 days of radiation like you've handled everything else this past year, with courage, spirit and grace.

And by the way, what a total babe! Short hair becomes you :)

  32. Deena! Your hair looks so modern and great- very chic, with it and happening. (I know, your intent :)) That's the silver lining. Still smiling after all this. Such a positive influence on all of us, sent by the Lord to remind us........

10 second each side? Too bad they can't just make that a hand held unit you could do at home- like one of those new zit zapper lights! Seems like a lot of travel, getting ready, etc- for 20 seconds.

    Love ya-
